Information for learners

Adult Community Education (ACE) provides early, less formal learning opportunities in a friendly local environment. ACE helps adults get back into learning, gain new skills and knowledge, gather their confidence and plan what other studies or work they might like to do.

There are over 350 ACE organisations and two large Adult Education Institutions – the Centre for Adult Education (CAE) and Adult Multicultural Education Services (AMES) – that provide vocational education and training to adults throughout Victoria.

How do I enrol?

Adult Community Education (ACE) providers or Adult Education Institutions will assist you in enrolling in the course of study that you want.

Contact your nearest Regional Council of Adult, Community and Further Education for help to identify an ACE provider. You can also contact the link opens new window Centre for Adult Education (CAE) or link opens new window Adult Multicultural Education Services (AMES) or course information.

Fees and charges

What you pay for a course in ACE varies with the type of course you are doing and your personal circumstances.

If the course is subsidised by Government, you will need to make a tuition contribution. However, fee concessions are available to ensure that all Victorians can access adult education. You should talk to the course provider about fees and charges before you enrol.
