ACFE Capacity Initiatives - Project Elements

- Delivery of ACE Business Capacity Program to a minimum of 100 (approximately 5 groups of up to 20 ACE staff in metropolitan and at least 3 regional locations) participants annually over a four year period.
- Grants are available to providers to encourage staff participation (reimbursement of costs related to travel, accommodation and backfill requirements.
- Trained ACE sector mentors will be supported to work alongside participants.

- Development and implementation of an ACE business skills acquisition strategy in preparation for the new skills system.
- Grants for ACE providers seeking to apply the strategy and build skills and qualifications of staff.
- Small annual support subsidies for providers from very small and/or isolated areas to encourage staff participation addressing costs related to capacity to replace staff, maintain business activity and out of pocket costs).

- Development of an annual professional development program focusing on elements likely to challenge ACE providers.
- Grants are available for providers to address specific business development needs of organisations.
- Mentoring and support is available for organisations who have successfully accessed the grants.

- Groups of ACE providers collaborate to share back-of-house efficiencies to increase organisational viability and sustainability.
- Development and communication of successful Shared Services models to the ACE sector.

- Action learning project to develop, implement and embed an ongoing engagement strategy for hard to reach learners.
- Stage 1 involves workshops and development of the strategy and Stage 2 involves implementation and evaluation over a 10 month period.
- Completion of a “best practice” research project to support future project participants and the ACE sector with examples of best practice in access and engagement of hard to reach learners within ACE, nationally and internationally.

- Development of a marketing and promotion strategy to increase responsiveness to CALD learners
- Identification of the needs of various groups within the CALD cohort
- Exploration of customised and culturally sensitive engagement strategies
- Increased numbers of teachers trained to deliver and assess ESL
- ACE organisations will be involved in this project through acting as practice sites for specific trials and participating in professional development

- Improvement of program delivery in the pre-accredited arena including promotion and support of A-frame implementation and development of models and tools that support the design and delivery of quality pre-accredited programs.
- Professional development programs and workshops around those models and tools.
- Research documenting best-practice quality pre-accredited delivery.
